Martingale (two-tiered) collar consists of two interconnected loops. The first, smaller or tightening, is connected to the leash, the second, larger or protective, however, is wrapped around the dog’s neck. When the dog pulls, the tightening loop adjusts to the tension of the leash and reduces the circumference of the protective loop. Therefore, the dog cannot take off the collar when it is properly installed, and the two-loop system relieves the pressure on the neck area slightly when pulled suddenly.
